Directing audiences with engaging wayfinding

What we did

  • Wayfinding strategy
  • Wayfinding design

Milanese group, Raumplan, wanted signage and wayfinding to fit the concept behind their exhibition titled, ‘Failures’ - a display of prototypes belonging to aborted industrial design projects.

The design we developed echoed the exhibition theme with broken type misregistered across two surfaces, using contrasting materials and colour. The architectural complexity of the exhibition space demanded a high level of communicative clarity. We ensured this by a close study of the exhibition plan, from which we projected visitor flows and journeys.

The result was a striking piece of design that delivered the concept and cut-through needed to draw Raumplan’s audiences to the exhibition, and ensure an intuitive navigation of the space.
