What we did

  • Brand strategy
  • Brand identity
  • Art direction
  • Website design & development
  • Stationery

Launching a furniture collection, years in the making, industrial designer, David Searcy, required an identity and portfolio website to leverage the occasion.

Searcy’s design is highly principled, his ingenious solutions concisely expressing facts of material and construction. In our identity and website design, we sought to turn this distinctive design approach into a visual world. Echoing the spirit of Searcy’s designs, our typographic identity is both direct and refined: type sizes are restricted, and colours muted, with elements precisely set out within an elegant framework of rulers.

We sought a similar directness in our approach to the structure of the website. The first level is predominantly visual, consisting in a precisely recorded survey of Searcy’s collection, our art direction ensuring an objective mood aligned to the identity. A more structured second level provides for technical explanation of subtle, but no less important, details.
